Delete your Categorical account

In the app

1. Open Categorical and go to Settings (the gear on the home screen).
2. Tap Sign out.
3. Tap Sign out and delete my account.
4. Read the warning and tap Delete my account.

Your account is deleted immediately.

If you pay for Categorical Pro, cancel the subscription in Google Play first (Play Store, profile picture, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions). Deleting your account does not cancel it.

If you cannot get into the app

Email jon@categorical.top from the address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my account". I will delete it within 30 days (usually much sooner) and confirm by email.

What is deleted

• Your account, your email address and your name.
• Your membership of every group.
• Every group where you were the only member, with all its categories and reminders.

What is kept

• If other people are still in a group you belonged to, the group stays for them, and ownership passes to whoever joined first. Reminders you created in it stay for that group, no longer linked to you.
• Events the app added to your Google Calendar stay in your calendar. Remove them in Google Calendar, or disconnect Google Calendar in the app first and choose to remove the events.
• Records of any subscription payment that I must keep for tax purposes, held by Google Play and RevenueCat, not by me.
• Database backups are overwritten on their normal rolling cycle.
